Silent Hill 2 isn’t just a game that you play; it is something that you suffer through from the start until the very end. You go through a gradual layer of psychological horror and with each passing moment, you feel as though you are hovering between a dream and a nightmare. It was released in 2001, and to say the least, it was ambitious for its time. SH2 places a great focus on dread, this is why the story and the atmosphere are top while combat is relegated to a supporting role.
