Resident Evil Village is mixing the best of old and new

The Resident Evil franchise has experienced a number of evolutions in the years since the first game title launched back in 1996. Not all games were extraordinary, but neither one was really bed. In fact, some were really really good. It is the case with Resident Evil Village, the latest release in the series, a game that Capcom developed and published for next-gen consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X/S), as well as last generation of game consoles (PS4 and Xbox One), and PC. This is a superb addition to a long history of games based on RE Engine, a mix of new and old, a well balanced release that will cutter to many tastes of players.

The truth is that Resident Evil Village is very good and you will find your jaw on the floor after playing a just a few minutes of the latest release. More than that, it is astonishing that once you finish the game (or should we say the "main game"?) you unlock another Resident Evil experience - Mercenaries. If you are excited as I am, than you will agree with me that RE Village makes for one of the best PS5 adventure games out there. It combines survival, horror, and action in a full package that will make most of the fans happy. You will enjoy the combat as much as the atmosphere and sounds. The gameplay is something worth remembering and more than sure we have a winner in Resident Evil Village.

After a few minutes of playing Resident Evil Village, I have got just enough of a taste to know that I am still very much sold on this game. Once again you play as Ethan Winters, the protagonist of Biohazard. Of course, some years passed by, but he is not too old for this kind of adventures. Ethan apparently likes to frighten the other people every few minutes. Rather than a silent protagonist only reacting to things, Ethan now comments on his environment constantly, has more interactions with suspicious NPCs who instantly pull guns on him, and doesn't stop whining that his lifetime is complete hell. This is fair enough and we will not disagree with Ethan.

Resident Evil Village has all of the makings of another classic, and this is a nice way to celebrate the 25 years of this franchise. Resident Evil Village has many insidious and scary things, like creepy mansions, claustrophobic corridors, even a cramped train carriage that doesn't seem used recently (abandoned)-This is the claustrophobic dark settings of Resident Evil, and the way you're cornered by the oppressive shadows really give Resident Evil games the fear factor we were expecting. Of course, from the self-evident title, Resident Evil Village isn't just one location, but rather multiple locations, in fact an entire village. This is one of the largest maps in the series' history and we are thankful for that. Clearly, it is one of the up and coming PS5 games, and I will not be surprised to see this game win some awards in its category.

Resident Evil Village has all of the makings of another classic

For fans of the series, unlocking The Mercenaries after beating the main game should feelgreat. This is a beloved fast-paced action, much more appropriate for a shooter game, than for a survival horror action game. Still, as the game caters to fans from all places, not just to the horror style enthusiasts, Mercenaries is a solid addition and I will say that it worth playing and finishing the game only to get access to Mercenaries. With Resident Evil 6 being one that incorporate such mode, Resident Evil Village is the first main release of the franchise in over 8 years to include The Mercenaries. A lot of shooter fans were thrilled with this game mode. I have to say that I like it too, but let's not forget that Resident Evil Village is the main course here, truly a game deserving all your attention. If you are looking to buy cheap PS5 games, there is no better option than this action survival horror video game.
