Gotham Knights Review - it's time to fix Gotham City

Gotham Knights has a surprisingly amazing storyline that both gamers and fans of comic books will surely enjoy. I am a sucker for video games that show critics incorrect, and Gotham Knights are one of the game titles that prove critics wrong, however, it seems to me that Gotham Knights rarely stood the possibility. Before anyone says something, I'd like to initiate the review with a statement that, however much I love comics, the only games established on Marvel or DC characters that I find truly excellent will be the Spider-Man series.

Gotham Knights

This might begin to see the inclusion of Hush as one of the side villains within Gotham Knights, and since Hush's storyline is closely linked to the Scarecrow it is possible that players will find themselves pitted against him as well. The Waynes will very likely function as a family that players will have the most informative data on because they will take on the role of Bruce Wayne's heirs, they will be the Bat Family in Gotham Knights. Their influence over Gotham City is unmatched, and they will have proven their ability time and repeatedly, including erasing all of the Dumas family, one of the founding families in the comics, out of Gotham City's history.

Gotham Knights gameplay

My appreciation of making numbers, and utilizing the meta-video games within RPGs is known to all, however, Gotham Knights' equipment and levels system is so chaotic that I was forced to avoid my menus every time feasible. But it is well worth it to make sense of dull combat. They may not be "good," but at most, they're different. Combat might rarely be interesting however, I will say that it is entitled to credit for the wide range of possibilities that are available to you. Fighting crime hasn't felt this unsatisfying since before Arkham Asylum revolutionized it last year and, given that you're going to be spending a substantial amount of time carrying it out and this is a major flaw, it's like a deep cut on the surface of your mouth that just does not want to be healed.

Gotham Knights story

Gotham Knights is certainly not a Batman: Arkham game. It's not it's an expansion of those Batman video game titles. It is something different, as Batman is no longer present. You have the "Batman Family," and you can play all 4 characters. There are many good things in this game. For example, you will be stunned by the open-world experience offered. The characters are also well-done and provide different gameplay. But also "minor" things are good. For instance, the voice actors are excellent, particularly Nightwing and Alfred. My suggestion will be to play the game, and not listen to the critics.

Gotham Knights - Conclusion

Gotham Knights has no defining feature that could help it to stand apart from other character-action games which have preceded it. Maybe it is interesting that you can play any of the four playable characters but it is not something new. It is not Batman: Arkham, and this is a shame. The gane lacks the dynamism of Marvel's Spider-Man, the pleasingly simple battle sequence that drove Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, and the syncopated, pulsating rhythm along with the fluidity and speed that helped make Batman: Arkham series legendary.
